I have put the final brushstrokes on another bust from ZabaArts. This is Rolf, a dwarf with a, er, versatile hat.
As with all Zaba characters, Rolf has a ton of personality that is a joy to draw out and interpret with your brushes.

The face of the miniature was so expressive and the volumes so interesting (especially the horns of his fool’s cap) that I knew it would be great fun to get a brush on him.

Continue reading “Sad Jester”I’ve finished the great little bust from Lukáš Žaba. Lukáš developed an original concept of the character, Bragg the Broken, an impoverished dwarven king. I thought this was a great idea and let it guide some of my painting decisions, so I’m keeping the name in recognition of the influence I felt.
