A few days ago I put the finishing touches on Cormac. It was a great project for me, filled with inspiration and enjoyment.

I am very happy with the result and feel it represents my best work to this point by far.
The sculpt gave me a lot to work with, and I feel I did it justice. I realized my initial vision, which is gratifying.

That isn’t to say elements and aspects of the paint couldn’t be improved, and I’ll keep pushing to become a more complete and convincing painter.

I was heavily influenced by the beautiful Fall we experienced here in Pittsburgh. As a result, the piece feels personal and particular, which is a goal for any artist, I think.

I hope this work represents a turning point in my painting, as I managed to translate some of the ideas in my head onto the model in a way that felt at once satisfying and successful.
I hope you like Cormac. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Thanks for taking a look!
That is great. The dark rings under the eyes give the face a lovely mournful look.
Cheers,
Pete.

I might be biased because I tend to prefer a good Fantasy mini to anything else but I think this guy is your best work yet. He has a wonderful balance of textures and colors. Your paint job tells a story and I think you instilled a lot of character in Cormac as well. Excellent job and I’ll be looking forward to seeing what you do next! 🙂

Thanks a lot, Kuribo. I’ve gotten a lot of great feedback that agrees with your assessment. And I can tell you I came closer to realizing my vision on Cormac than on any previous model. So I’ll take it!
I’m hard at work on my next project. I’ll get a little WIP posted before I finish it!

Really charismatic enchanter!
I’d like you to make a tutorial on fabrics texture.
