Since I had so much fun sculpting & painting Lovecraft, I turned around and whipped up a little Frankenstein’s monster.
Hopefully I captured enough of the hallmarks of the famous 1931 Boris Karloff depiction that this caricature hits the mark.
Frankenstein’s monster was a challenge. Of course that means I learned a good deal.
I found the hair particularly difficult. I wanted thick, animal-like hair. I think I may have made him look too much like a shampoo ad spokesperson!
He’s a funny little fellow. My wife pointed out that I gave him my nose. Should be fun to paint!
That is great- you’ve captured the iconic look.
Cheers,
Pete.

Now you need to complete the series: Dracula, Mummy, Werewolf, Creature from the Black Lagoon, etc.!
